A database platform centered around equipment was established, on which various functional modules were developed, such as a maintenance plan formulation module, a maintenance assessment record module, a component replacement record module, a device failure and handling record module, a repair cost statistics module, an anti-corrosion record module, and so on. There are quite a number of versions of equipment management software available in China; my employer was at the forefront in terms of computerized equipment management. I also developed fairly comprehensive requirements for program functions, but it turned out that it was impossible to create something truly effective or useful. Because neither the development nor the usage phase of this program has reached the expected standard. To be honest, give up on this idea.

Establish records, equipment history sheets, and maintenance procedures
There are many standard books on equipment management, and they are well-structured, but it’s hard to say how effective they really are. The approach to equipment management still needs to be determined based on factors such as an organization’s structural layout, management functions, workflow design, human resource allocation, and the availability of resources for equipment maintenance
