Let’s discuss the performance comparison between V-ball valves and O-ball valves, and under what working conditions do the advantages of each type of valve become more evident. Thank you all for participating in the discussion
(1) O-ring ball valve: It has a through-hole on its ball with a diameter equal to that of the pipeline, and the ball can rotate within the sealing seat. It is generally used for two-position control, with a fast-opening flow characteristic. It is characterized by a simple structure, easy maintenance, reliable sealing, high flow capacity, and no directionality required for the fluid to enter the valve. (2) V-shaped ball valve: It has a V-shaped opening on its ball; as the ball rotates, the area of this opening changes, but the shape of the opening remains triangular. Its flow characteristics are approximately equal percentage type, and it offers a large adjustability ratio. It has characteristics similar to those of an O-ring ball valve, but the V-shaped port exerts a shearing force with the valve seat, making it suitable for fibrous or paste-like fluids and offering good sealing performance.

Under the same conditions, what are the prices of these two types of valves?
V-ball valves require less force from the actuator during operation compared to O-ball valves. For media that are prone to drying out, they do not get clogged in the fully closed position, whereas O-valves are prone to getting clogged at the center of the ball. V-valves are generally used more in slurry media; they are similar to cam-actuated valves and are much better than O-valves.
