If you don't open the insulation layer, you need to carefully look at the as-built drawings, and see if there are any changes during the construction phase, and then ask the master for advice.
This is a method, but it is not easy to be sure if there are multiple branch pipes on site. It's best to look at the drawings.

You can make a simple tool and use a probe to penetrate the insulation layer to indirectly calculate the thickness of the insulation. This is accurate and does not require removing the insulation layer.
I also encountered this problem when I entered the factory, and I still haven’t figured out what happened to the pipelines inside. After entering the factory, I spent a month working on the process and gained nothing at all. A month later, the old equipment completely ended its mission. I was also transferred to a newly built equipment as an operator. After a year, I was promoted to a technician.
