There are very few detailed introductions in books about which gaskets should be used for flanges, which sometimes brings a lot of inconvenience to us when designing. For example, FRPP flanges cannot use PDF (polytetrafluoro-coated gaskets) because they are too hard and cannot be pressed tightly. If leakage occurs during the pressure test, graphite rubber gaskets can be used. Any other similar experiences are welcome to discuss.

The matching of flange and gasket is related to the sealing effect of flange connection. Based on personal construction experience: American Standard Pipe Design: The 600lb model uses RJ-faced flange + oval gasket, which has good sealing effect. Design of national standard pipelines: For 10.0MPa, it is better to use threaded flange + lens pad;P
The choice of gasket for a flange is determined based on the process conditions. It depends on the medium, excessive pressure, temperature, etc. Generally, gaskets are classified according to their use.
