What are the requirements regarding the quality of coal and the concentration of coal slurry for 4.0MPA, 6.5MPA, and 8.7MPA gasification furnaces? What are the requirements regarding oxygen purity? Also, what coal slurry additives are people using?
Actually, this has little to do with pressure. Water-coal slurry gasification requires a relatively high ash melting point, generally not exceeding 1350 degrees; otherwise, fluxes such as limestone must be added. Lignite with a high water content is not suitable as it makes it difficult to prepare the slurry. The concentration of the coal slurry is usually between 60-65%. Pure oxygen of 99.5% is required, with a slight margin of 99.6% taken into account during design. Coal slurry additives generally refer to stabilizers and dispersants, and their specific components are covered by patents, so they cannot be disclosed.

The concentration of the coal slurry should be determined based on the quality of coal selected and the pumping capacity of the pump. In our plant, it is generally between 58% and 62%. The concentration of the coal slurry should not be too high, as a higher concentration makes transportation more difficult, increases wear on the pumps, and also increases the risk of pipeline blockages. The concentration of the coal slurry can be increased by adding additives, the main component of which is sodium lignosulfonate
The level of pressure has nothing to do with the quality of the coal; the requirements for the coal remain the same. In fact, the level of pressure is mainly determined by the requirements of subsequent processes. If the pressure required in subsequent processes is high, the design pressure for the gasification process will also be high, and vice versa.
The additives are all surfactants, and patent issues are involved!
