I would like to ask about the methods used for insulation and heating of instruments in oil refining units. These units include units for atmospheric and vacuum distillation, delayed coking, wax oil hydrocracking, diesel hydrotreating, continuous reforming, and aromatic extraction. Apart from steam heating, which media require an isolation fluid and which require a flushing oil?
What question do you actually want to ask?
For any medium with high viscosity that tends to solidify, an isolation tank must be used along with flushing oil. All types of heavy oils, such as crude oil, residue, and oil slurry, as well as paraffin oils, require an isolation fluid in the isolation tank. Flushing oil is necessary for all these media; depending on the specific circumstances, diesel fuel may also require an isolation tank, but flushing oil is not always necessary in that case.
