Our company’s refining workshop has a hot oil furnace that uses electric heating. A reaction temperature of 300°C is required for the reactor; the heat transfer medium in the hot oil furnace is paraffin oil, with a ignition point of 180°C. I’m very worried – if there’s a leak in the hot oil system, it could lead to a massive fire that cannot be extinguished. I’m asking everyone for help to come up with ways to maintain it on a regular basis, and what to do in case there’s a leak Thank you! (The system pressure of the hot oil furnace is 0.3–0.4 MPa)
First, ensure the quality of the equipment materials; second, strengthen monitoring; third, conduct regular thickness measurements to prevent leaks caused by significant thinning
Generally, in the presence of such risks, the design should include an emergency discharge system for the hot oil system, so that in emergency situations, the hot oil in the system can be drained into safe storage tanks
The simplest solution is to replace paraffin oil with heat transfer oil. Heat transfer oil is much safer. I don’t understand why you use paraffin oil as a heat carrier
Every set of equipment is designed with corresponding safety and environmental protection features; you didn’t design it yourself, did you? What time is it now? You still dare to drive when the safety inspection fails – your boss must be really brave!!!!
