It allows for ultra-low-speed logging, with a speed range of 20 meters per hour to 10,000 meters per hour, and a logging depth of up to 11,500 meters – 1,500 meters deeper than similar international products. 6. 100 sets of the EILog logging equipment developed by CNPC Logging will be put into use this year. Since the beginning of the year, CNPC Logging has actively promoted its independently developed EILog logging equipment, taking full advantage of its capabilities to conduct accurate and rapid logging; this approach has yielded significant results in its application in the 6 oil fields under CNPC’s ownership. In 2007, CNPC carried out large-scale replacements of its existing logging equipment, focusing on the EILog logging system as a key component, in order to build a first-class logging team. With the goal of identifying oil and gas reservoirs, it provided high-quality services for oil field exploration and development; it was planned that 100 such systems would be put into use by the end of the year. 7. China’s first LNG-based cooling project gets underway. On September 28, the country’s first production facility that uses the cooling power of LNG (liquefied natural gas) for air separation was officially launched in Putian City, Fujian Province. This represents another milestone in CNOOC’s efforts to develop clean and environmentally friendly energy sources. The project was jointly invested in and constructed by CNOOC Base Group Co., Ltd. and Air Products and Chemicals Inc., with a total investment of around 300 million yuan. Base Group holds a 51% stake in the project, and the cooling energy required is supplied by Fujian LNG. As planned, the first phase of Fujian’s LNG project will involve an annual import of 2.6 million tons of LNG; therefore, the economic and social benefits associated with the utilization of cold energy are quite significant. 8.
