When I was in production, I once encountered such a situation.: After the first phase of the project was completed and delivered, production changes were made due to various reasons. By the second phase, the design institute's drawings were exactly the same as those of the first phase, and the design institute refused to modify the drawings on the grounds that the preliminary conditions were not included and the design complied with the specifications. In the end, we can only wait for delivery and start over again :@! After I started working in design, I would often pay follow-up visits to the design projects, but BOSS said I was wasting money and doing useless work :'(! Please give your opinion on this!

If possible, doing more return visits to learn more about the operation of your own design will be of great benefit to improving your design level, and it is also a sign of being serious and responsible for your work. Your boss considers the problem based on his own interests, and it is immediate interests. If he thinks about it in the long term, I think he will be very supportive of doing so. But I would also like to remind you that you should listen selectively to the construction unit's suggestions, and you should refer to relevant specifications when modifying drawings and be cautious.
This is a problem. This situation does exist, but as design institutes transform into engineering companies, this situation will become less and less.
Design and use are two links in the entire work chain, and each has its own emphasis. Design focuses on following specifications and using them to solve practical problems. We also found that after several years of operation, many legal but unreasonable parts of the design have been modified or improved by users. This information is very valuable for design. Return visits help to continuously improve the quality of the design. Whether a return visit is needed depends on the designer's mentality.

This may also be the reason why most small and medium-sized design units are unwilling to conduct design return visits.
