Our factory has three PSA units for carbon dioxide removal, with a total gas production of around 8,000 standard cubic meters per hour. The concentration of CO2 in this gas is approximately 87%, while the total sulfur content is around 100 PPM. What process can be used to increase the CO2 concentration to 98%, and what methods exist to reduce the total sulfur content to less than 5 PPM? Thank you.
For desulfurization, you can install a desulfurization system using N-methyldiethanolamine as a desulfurizing agent; it works very well. The scale of such a system does not need to be large, and the capital investment is also low. As for increasing the concentration of carbon dioxide, it depends on what other substances are involved – different methods may be required for different substances
CO2: 87%, N2: 8%, CO: 4%, others: 1%
Is sulfur hydrogen sulfide or sulfur dioxide? Hydrogen sulfide is first catalytically oxidized to sulfur dioxide, which can then be removed by washing with sodium bicarbonate. Sulfur dioxide is directly removed with sodium bicarbonate.
Looking at the composition specified by the poster, it seems somewhat difficult to achieve 98% CO2; N2 is an inert gas, and it doesn’t seem easy to remove
Put on clothes; it’s quite cold in winter
By extending the adsorption time, the concentration of carbon dioxide released during desorption increases; the use of iron oxide as an adsorbent can reduce sulfur levels to below 1 ppm!
To raise it to 98%, another set of pressure swing adsorption concentration units is needed!
There is a professor named Zhang at Dalian University of Technology who has developed an effective technology for carbon dioxide purification; it seems that adsorption is used for this purpose, and it is said that the resulting product can meet industrial standards. It’s not clear whether pressure swing adsorption is involved in this process. If the hydrogen sulfide concentration is so low, it is best to use a simple and easy dry desulfurization method; if there are any issues, you can contact me via text message.
Pressurization, auxiliary cooling, and distillation can meet the requirements
What is stated in point 10 is correct; CO2 purification is achieved through low-temperature distillation to remove impurities. You can visit www.hxhg.com.cn; our company is a leader in CO2 production technology in China.
