What are the processes for treating waste sulfuric acid? And what are their respective application ranges? Thank you!
Our factory once developed a process for concentrating waste sulfuric acid. About 68% of the sulfuric acid is concentrated to around 95%. The method involves using a cast-iron pot for heating in order to evaporate the water and other impurities present in the acid; thereafter, a pump is used to create a vacuum, which draws away the steam, while sulfuric acid flows out from behind the pot.

The treatment of waste sulfuric acid depends on its concentration as well as the other components it contains; this information is necessary to determine the appropriate material for the equipment. For low-concentration acid, it is better to use steel-lined graphite materials to concentrate it to about 70% acidity through steam, and then use tantalum heaters to further concentrate it to around 90% acidity
