Question: In actual operation, when using the exhaust gas resulting from the liquefaction of chlorine to produce hydrogen chloride, what is the composition of that hydrogen chloride? Can the chlorine content be kept below 0.03% in all of them? Please give me lots of advice! ! # , , &
Liquefied off-gases can be used to produce hydrogen chloride; it’s no problem to keep the free chlorine level below 300PPM. The key lies in maintaining a stable ratio of chlorine to hydrogen, as well as in the design of the furnace – thorough mixing and reaction are necessary to ensure low levels of free chlorine
The free chlorine level in our hydrochloric acid is generally between 56-52 ppm; rarely does it exceed 60 ppm, except at the beginning of operation. **The standard is less than or equal to 60 ppm.
The composition of hydrogen chloride gas at the exit of the synthesis furnace is related to factors such as the type of synthesis furnace, the purity of the feed gases, and the level of operation. Using a graphite synthesis furnace, when the purity of the chlorine feedstock is 96%, the purity of hydrogen chloride generally ranges from 93% to 96%, while the hydrogen content is 2.5% to 4.5% on a volume basis. There is also a small amount of water (strictly speaking, hydrochloric acid vapor), along with a small amount of carbon dioxide and trace amounts of nitrogen ; If 83% (or less) of exhaust chlorine is used, the proportions of carbon dioxide and nitrogen will increase ; If a steel synthesis furnace is used, hydrogen chloride will contain a certain amount of iron chloride ; If the operating level is not high, the hydrogen content in hydrogen chloride will increase or free chlorine will be generated. :o
