**Are there any policies regarding the use of flue gas for acid production? Can plants with a capacity of less than 40 Kt be put into operation? If possible, what would be the approximate budget for a 30Kt flue gas acid production system? Zinc sulfide concentrate is used as the raw material. All indicators meet the **standards; thank you all for your guidance! :handshake
I just started working in the sulfuric acid industry, and now I’m overwhelmed by budget issues. . . Has the production of sulfuric acid below 40Kt been **stopped**? . . :'(
30,000–40,000 tons per year; the scale of the plant is indeed small.
Yeah~~~ Actually, sulfuric acid production is a secondary activity for the company; its main focuses are the smelting of non-ferrous metals and fertilizer production. However, when it comes to flue gas treatment, it’s most economical to use equipment directly to produce sulfuric acid. With current high prices of sulfuric acid, this approach also helps address pollution issues. The volume produced isn’t large, and despite searching through many sources, no specific budget figures have been found. :Q
When first getting involved in the sulfuric acid industry, one has to prepare a budget on their own; even if that proves to be extremely difficult, it doesn’t necessarily mean the project won’t work. If one really wants to set up such a facility, it’s best to consult sulfuric acid equipment manufacturers or design firms, and it’s advisable to compare several options. The approximate total budget is 13 million yuan, excluding civil engineering work and transformers, etc.; it is for reference only.
The production of acid from 30,000 tons of zinc concentrate is restricted under **current policies**, but exceptions may be made in areas designated for western development. The cost of a plant capable of processing 40,000 tons of zinc for acid production is around 17 million yuan, with civil engineering costs amounting to about 7 million yuan, excluding land acquisition costs. External power and water supply facilities are not included in this figure. This information is provided for your reference.
