Instrument lines for drawing flowcharts

May I ask, when drawing flowcharts, if the instrument line (dashed line) intersects with the pipe line (solid line), should the instrument line be broken?
This doesn’t need to be disconnected. The process lines must be disconnected when they intersect
I have another question: if two instrument wires intersect, how are the connected and disconnected states represented in each case?
I think a black dot might be needed when linking; I’m not entirely sure
