As the title suggests, does a thermistor in actual use need to be calibrated regularly? Additionally, sometimes discrepancies are found between the readings from the infrared temperature gun and those from other devices; or there are differences in the readings of the two thermistors within one reactor. What are everyone’s thoughts on this? What’s the reason?

However, in practical operations at various units, thermal resistors are rarely calibrated; generally, calibration is only performed on those thermal resistors used for special purposes.

Regular calibration is required, and the calibration interval is determined by the metrology management department. It’s normal for readings to differ, as all instruments have some degree of error; if the differences are too large, it’s necessary to investigate the reason.

Meters that are not subject to mandatory calibration can have their calibration intervals adjusted appropriately based on the calibration results from previous years and the relevant calibration regulations. The basis for regular calibration is not the cost of calibration, but rather the application scenario. Meters subject to mandatory verification refer to an organization’s highest-level metrological standards, as well as working meters used in trade settlements, healthcare, safety protection, and environmental monitoring that are included in the list of instruments requiring mandatory verification. Units or individuals that use work measuring instruments subject to mandatory verification must apply to the designated metrological verification institutions for periodic verification in accordance with the regulations.
