Titanium-palladium alloys or titanium surfaces coated with anti-corrosion layers are usually used for these sealing surfaces. I would like to ask the experts: what is the mechanism behind this corrosion? Why does it occur most frequently at the bottom? What consequences might arise if titanium is used to repair such sealing surfaces?
Incorrect installation of the gasket, or corrosion of the gasket due to its poor quality or insufficient acid addition to the cell, can result in gaps in the seal; no corrosion occurs between the gasket and the cell frame. In the lower part, the disturbance of the electrolyte is minimal, and new electrolyte cannot be replenished in time; therefore, the amount of chlorate deposition there is relatively high, making corrosion most likely to occur in this area. Repairing the sealing surface with titanium will not have any consequences, but care must be taken to ensure its flatness.

Why is it called galvanic corrosion? Which two metals are in contact? I think it makes more sense to explain the corrosion of the sealing surface as crevice corrosion, right? How does the quality of gaskets affect the corrosion of the sealing surfaces? Is it a material issue or poor flatness? What is the requirement for the flatness of the anode gasket?
