Can 316L resist corrosion by sodium chlorate solutions? Are there any other materials besides 20# alloy and titanium?
316L performs fairly well against sodium chlorate, but it is important to note that there must be no free chlorine; see page 235 of the \"Corrosion Data Manual\"
Thank you! Following your advice, I checked the manual and indeed it’s true. The material choice for stirring when dissolving in sodium chlorate solution is a challenge when the operating temperature does not exceed 70°C; however, it’s not an issue when the temperature is above 70°C.
You’re welcome. I suggest considering whether non-metallic materials could be used, or if the surface could be coated/lined with non-metallic materials. 2205 duplex stainless steel should be good! !
Personally, I think that if the operating temperature is not high, non-metallic materials can be considered; there are more options available and the requirements are less stringent
It is not recommended as a storage container for sodium chlorate solutions, as an excess of free chloride ions will accelerate corrosion

When the temperature is not high, it is best not to use metal materials; fiberglass can be an alternative. If a metal material must be used, it is best to coat the inner layer.
