When using Aspen to create diagrams, multiple streams of steam enter the heat exchanger (these streams are actually mixed together; they come in through various inlets, with each stream having different temperature and pressure). In the end, only one stream exits the heat exchanger or flasher. However, the system always requires that the number of output streams be equal to the number of input streams. If we follow this rule when drawing the diagrams, then a single heat exchanger would have nearly 20 inputs – how should this be handled? I would be extremely grateful if any expert could give me some guidance!
First, introduce the feed stream into a MIXER, and then draw out one stream.

It’s not necessary to use a mixer; connect multiple streams of fluid to one inlet of the heat exchanger, and it will mix them for you.
