It also depends on the shape of the tank and the design conditions. The design pressure for standard dome tanks is 200 mmH2O. If the temperature is too high, it will cause the steam pressure inside the tank to rise excessively, thereby lifting the tank and creating a hazard; therefore, the design requirements for spherical tanks must be met. For internal floating roof tanks, there are limitations on their design temperature; if the temperature is too high, it can lead to leaks at the soft seals of the floating disk, thereby posing a danger. Therefore, it is necessary to cool down to a certain temperature in accordance with the standard requirements before entering the tank.
For units with heat integration, if the fluid enters a buffer tank after leaving the unit, the temperature of the fluid upon exiting the unit can reach 100 degrees, depending on the design. If it is to be used in irrigation tankers, it must meet the design requirements of such tanks in order to prevent leaks of oil vapors and damage to the tank roof; therefore, it is best to have a temperature lower than the flash point of diesel.
