China's total coal resources and reserves (1) Total coal resources According to the summary statistics of the second national coalfield forecast of the Ministry of Coal Industry in 1981, China's total coal resources are 5,059.2 billion tons. Among them, the predicted coal resources are 4,492.7 billion tons (vertical depth of 2,000m in the north and 1,500m in the south), and coal reserves are 566.5 billion tons. Forecast coal resources are graded according to reliability: Among them, the predicted reliable-level resources are 1,413.1 billion tons, the predicted possible-level resources are 1,985.1 billion tons, and the predicted inferred-level resources are 1,094.5 billion tons. According to burial depth: Among them, the length above 600m is 1204.4 billion tons; the length 601~1000m is 899.6 billion tons, the length 1001~1500m is 1127.6 billion tons, and the length 1501~2000m is 1261 billion tons. (2) Coal reserves As geological exploration is carried out year by year, the cumulative proven reserves of coal are an ever-increasing number. According to statistics from the former Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources, as of the end of 1996, the country's cumulative proven coal reserves were 1,027.3 billion tons, of which 251 billion tons were refined reserves, 181.5 billion tons were detailed surveys, and 594.8 billion tons were surveyed and prospected. After deducting the reserves that have been extracted and lost from production mines and calculating the reserves changes caused by various factors, the remaining proven coal reserves are called retained coal reserves. This is the main basis for analyzing and studying the extent to which coal resources guarantee the national economic construction, and is the most commonly used important data. Coal retained reserves are divided into two parts. One part is the reserves allocated to production mines and mines under construction, usually called occupied reserves. ； The other part is the reserves that have not been planned to be used, which are called unused reserves.
