Does anyone have drawings for an ammonia tank? The ammonia tank used in our factory at the moment is a plastic container; its sealing isn’t good, which results in significant evaporation of ammonia. It needs to be replaced with a fully sealed steel tank, but we’ve never done this before and don’t know how to design it. I’m seeking help from everyone.
I want one too. Can some friends share one?
It’s a pity I don’t have any blueprints. It can be made from stainless steel; there’s nothing special about it, just needs an outlet (that can lead to the outside) to release the excess air
The ammonia tank must not be airtight; otherwise, it would become a pressure vessel, and that would pose problems – not only due to the high cost, but also because of various issues related to design, manufacturing, and management. Therefore, ammonia tanks are generally designed as equipment under normal pressure, and ordinary vertical steel storage tanks suffice for this purpose. It’s quite simple. It’s best to use glass tube level gauges, as they provide better sealing; float or bulb-type level gauges should be avoided as they aren’t airtight. It’s also necessary to prevent the presence of ammonia odors in the vicinity. Not only must the ammonia tank be sealed, but the vent pipe must also be led to an appropriate location at a certain height, in order to reduce the impact of volatile ammonia emissions on the surrounding environment. To almost completely eliminate the ammonia smell, a water seal needs to be installed.
