There is no such thing as a conversion rate for polyvinyl chloride; what is referred to is the yield of polyvinyl chloride, which generally denotes the ratio of the amount of vinyl chloride used to the amount of vinyl chloride that is converted into polyvinyl chloride.

It seems the wording is incorrect. It should be the conversion rate of VCM – the mass of PVC produced in one batch divided by the total mass of VCM used.
That’s right. May I ask how to calculate it? I mean, is it more accurate to calculate using the heat of reaction, or to use the amount of dry PVC produced as a basis for calculation?
It is generally calculated by a computer; it seems to be quite complicated, as it involves determining the heat released from converting the total amount of circulating water and VCM into PVC. However, some operating systems do not have this functionality – I know that Emerson does.
