Our company’s DCS has been in use for 10 years, and it’s difficult to find spare parts. How many years has everyone been using it? Who has experience with replacements?
Our factory has been using it for two years; it’s a Rockwell MACS5 system, and the spare parts are acceptable. Just replace it directly.

The system from Zhejiang University Zhongkong has been in use for four years now, and it’s still working fine – no major problems have occurred! There’s also a Foxboro I/A system that has been in use for 5 years; it has had three problems – two CP60 units broke down, and there were several issues with the cards as well. The service quality is getting worse and worse!
After 10 years, it’s time to carry out gradual renovations too!

Professional maintenance vendors, due to their connections with numerous manufacturers, are able to resolve issues related to the supply of spare parts quite quickly; if that’s not possible, they can obtain the necessary parts from other contracted manufacturers right away. Additionally, their costs associated with maintaining stock of spare parts are very low. 2. Spares for DCS are a key focus in daily management. For instrument maintenance personnel, it is important to consider the redundancy of the existing system: if the system does not have a dual-path design, the demand for spares will be high, so it is essential to keep spares readily available alongside the system. 3. When planning a factory, it is necessary to take spare parts into consideration; therefore, a long-term plan is required. For example, if the factory is set to expand in the coming years, one should not opt for the cheapest systems – future maintenance also needs to be taken into account. It is better to choose brands that offer good service and experience, and to invest more in order to ensure better support, as spare parts will still need to be purchased in the future (it is not recommended to use DCS systems from different manufacturers). 4. Maintenance contracts must be taken into consideration when negotiating the purchase of equipment!

The TDC3000 was in use for 12 years starting from 1990; since spare parts could no longer be obtained, it was upgraded to TPS in 2002.
We’ve been using it for ten years; we only replaced it last year. We used Zhejiang University’s Zhongkong and Delta V: lol
I started using Zhejiang University Zhongkong JX series 7 years ago; there are no major issues with it, and it supports domestic industries.
