As I understand it personally, this question is about whether a grid demister is the same as a wire mesh demister. Both of these are likely designed to capture liquid droplets entrained in gases; the former seems suitable for larger droplets in gases, while the latter is suitable for smaller droplets. As for how to determine their applicable ranges, I’m not entirely sure either. The question raised by the original poster regarding calculating the pressure drop to select a mesh demister is probably related to this issue.
