Personally, I think it’s best not to store the new agent and the old agent together, as although the old agent has been reduced, it still differs from the new agent in terms of activity and mechanical strength. If they must be installed together, layered filling should be considered: the old agent is placed at the bottom of the reactor, while the new agent is placed at the top. This is the most reasonable approach, as under normal circumstances, the catalyst deactivates more rapidly in the upper part than in the lower part. If the old catalyst is placed in the upper part, it will become deactivated in a short period of time, forcing shutdown for maintenance. By placing the new reagent at the upper part, the production cycle lengthens; meanwhile, when the new reagent approaches its point of inactivation, the old reagent at the lower part has also reached its limit of inactivity.
