Today I saw a code name "FSL" on a PID. I asked a colleague who majored in instrumentation in my unit and said it was an instrument switch, but he didn't know the specific thing. I asked someone to tell me the difference between FSL and FV.
I think it's a low flow interlock, it doesn't look like a switch!

This is instrument professional stuff. FSL is a flow switch, there should be no controversy. F=flow and flow S=switch. The key to the switch is L. I personally think it is the abbreviation of Low, that is, low. Generally speaking, it is a low flow switch. When the flow rate is less than the set flow rate, the switch state changes and enters the logic calculation loop to generate a chain or alarm. FV is undisputed, that is, flow regulating valve. Like TV and temperature regulating valve, LV is liquid level regulating valve, etc.
FSL should be a flow low limit switch, which is used in many places.; FV refers to the field valve position number of the flow regulating valve.

One is the flow switch (FSL) and the other is the valve (FV) used for flow regulation FSL: Indicates that when the flow rate is too low, the flow switch outputs a switching value of a dry node for alarm or interlocking. The specific alarm or interlock depends on how it is drawn on the PID and the process requirements.
