Some craftsmen said that instead of installing a pressure gauge, the operating status can be understood by looking at the motor current. I don’t know if this will work!
It depends on the medium. For general water, you can use a Bourdon tube, and for corrosive materials such as salt water, you can use a membrane box. Low-pressure steam requires a Bourdon tube + siphon.
