There should be control valves on the pipelines for pressure compensation at the outlet that open automatically to protect the equipment or to enable automatic shutdown protection; I’m not sure whether the compressor can switch to 50% load or no-load operation on its own
Based on my many years of experience working with compressors, I believe the most effective approach is to reduce the system pressure by adjusting the valves at the process stations; at the same time, increase the inlet pressure of the compressor by opening the control valve that connects the compressor’s outlet to its inlet. This ensures that the pressure difference between the compressor’s inlet and outlet is below the set threshold. After that, reset the compressor and load it again.
Based on my many years of experience working with compressors, I believe the most effective approach is for the operator in charge of the process to reduce the system pressure, while simultaneously opening the control valve that connects the compressor’s outlet to its inlet, thereby increasing the inlet pressure of the compressor. This helps to keep the pressure difference between the compressor’s inlet and outlet below the set threshold. Once that is achieved, the compressor’s interlock can be reset, allowing the compressor to be powered up again.
I think the valves for preventing surge should automatically open to restore inlet pressure, or else the compressor has stopped operating urgently
