There is currently a gasification furnace that belongs to category 2; it has an insulating and wear-resistant lining. The volume of the steel shell is 28 cubic meters, and the interior of the shell is lined with such an insulating and wear-resistant material. The effective volume after this lining is 20 cubic meters. So, should the volume indicated on the assembly diagram be 28 cubic meters or 20 cubic meters?

According to recommendation No. 28 in the capacity regulations, there is no need to subtract the volume of the internal insulation either (hehe, which also saves a lot of trouble).

The volume specified in the regulations refers to the geometric volume of the pressure vessel, that is, the volume calculated based on the dimensions indicated in the design drawings and rounded off, without deducting the volume of the internal components. Therefore, the total volume of 28 should be indicated in the drawings. Since I am not very familiar with vaporizers, I personally think it would be best to also indicate the operating volume of 20.
