Steam heating should be a viable solution; low-pressure steam can be used with a controlled flow rate. It’s not necessary to heat only one side – by covering a larger area, uneven heating should be avoided. The greatest advantage of steam is that it does not cause combustion explosions.
Boil the steam together with water, and rinse with warm water – this usually achieves the desired result! :)
If you’re worried that steam may cause uneven heating and cracking, you can use hot water! With steam, are you still worried about not having hot water? :lol

Water is the best choice; in fact, cold water is preferable. Water has a high specific heat capacity, and the temperature difference between cold water and frozen ice is small, which results in a slow increase in temperature and even heating. This allows for gradual thawing without damaging the pump.
Use water, not steam. It is essential to ensure that the pump body is heated evenly.
The method we commonly use is: we apply a steam strip, use low-pressure steam for heating, and cover it from the outside with seaweed* (for fire prevention); after some time, it melts away. The pump inlet is fully open, and the outlet is slightly open.
