Yesterday, the China Electricity Council released the "2007 China Electric Power Industry Statistical Express". The report showed that last year's power generation reached 3,255.9 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 14.44%. The national power generation installed capacity reached 713.29 million kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 14.36%. The growth rate declined for the first time in recent years. The report shows that my country's electricity industry structure changed little last year. Industrial electricity consumption still ranked first, reaching 2,484.7 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 15.66%. Electricity consumption in the tertiary industry increased by 12.08%. The growth rates of urban and rural residents and rural electricity consumption were 10.55% and 5.19% respectively. In just one year, the country's installed electricity capacity has jumped from 600 million kilowatts to 700 million kilowatts. The scale of power construction has continued to reach a historical high, but the growth rate has declined for the first time in recent years. China Electricity Council believes that the main reason is that the capacity of clean energy, especially wind power equipment, has grown rapidly year-on-year, and the growth of installed capacity has passed the period of high growth. The installed capacity growth rate of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and other provinces with rapid installed capacity growth has dropped significantly, and the number of provinces with a growth rate higher than 20% is reduced to Inner Mongolia, Anhui, Guangxi and Yunnan.
