With the arrival of the 21st century, the Earth we inhabit is in an era of information revolution and knowledge economy. As China’s economy develops, productivity improves, and people’s living standards rise, residences must not only meet people’s most basic housing needs but also fulfill various other functions such as providing spaces for working, studying, entertaining guests, exercising, storing items, and parking vehicles. At the same time, people have higher expectations regarding comfort, convenience, safety, and efficiency in their lives, which has given rise to intelligent residential communities. For a residential community, the safety of its residents is of primary importance. To ensure the safety of property and residents within the community, it is necessary to utilize various advanced information technologies to prevent and address crimes such as home intrusions and robberies, as well as various household disasters and accidents. “The “Southern Garden Intelligent Residential Community” is located in Longjingwan, Chongqing’s High-Tech Zone. It is part of the **2000 Project for Developing Comfortable Urban and Rural Housing through Technology**, and serves as a demonstration community for intelligent housing. It is a mid-to-high-end residential complex that features commercial and residential buildings, as well as various supporting facilities such as financial services, shopping areas, cultural venues, educational institutions, and entertainment options. The entire park covers an area of 47,000 square meters, with a building area of 110,000 square meters, and it provides a safe, comfortable, convenient, and high-quality living environment for the 626 residents living there. The security and alarm system in this park mainly includes: closed-circuit television monitoring, theft alarm, emergency button alarm, gas leak alarm, smoke detection alarm, video intercom, perimeter protection, and patrol management. The Park Craft Security Center is responsible for the centralized monitoring and management of various subsystems. 1 Closed-circuit television monitoring system: The main function of this system is to assist the security system in providing real-time surveillance of the perimeter of the community as well as of key areas within it. Multiple cameras are used to monitor public areas within the campus, the campus entrance, the underground parking lot, and the perimeter of the facility. When an alarm is triggered by the security system, the cameras are activated automatically, and the footage from the area being monitored is displayed on the main monitor. At the same time, a video recorder is started to record the actual situation at the scene. The system uses a 32×5 matrix switching system; via the system console, operators can select any camera and display its image on the monitor in use. The operator can remotely control the camera lens using a joystick to expand the monitoring area and improve the clarity of the images on site. This system is equipped with a 16-zone alarm panel and a multimedia monitoring computer. Achieve integration with infrared alarm monitoring in the vicinity of the community, as well as integration with community management software (achieved through multimedia monitoring computers). 2 Perimeter Security System: The perimeter security system in intelligent residential communities serves to prevent unauthorized persons from entering the community from outside, thereby avoiding various potential dangers. “The “Southern Garden Intelligent Residential Community” uses active far-infrared beam control devices in conjunction with a closed-circuit television monitoring system, offering excellent performance and high reliability. The infrared detector of this system can automatically detect intruding persons or objects and emit an alarm sound at the same time, eliminating the need for security personnel to monitor the screen for long periods of time ; This system uses low-light night-vision color cameras, allowing use day and night without the need for additional lighting equipment ; Rain, snow, cloudy weather, and changes in the sun do not cause false alarms for birds, leaves, fluorescent lights, and so on. 3 Patrol Management System: The patrol management system of the “Southern Garden Intelligent Residential Community” utilizes dynamic, real-time online inspection system technology for computer-based management of patrols within the community. The patrol routes within the park are generated through computer-based optimization, taking into account factors such as the importance of various patrol points, actual routes, and distances, to create dozens of patrol paths, which are stored in the computer database for patrol management. The specific patrol routes for each shift are determined randomly by a computer, in order to prevent collusion between insiders and outsiders for criminal purposes. Each patrol route has a varying number of patrol points, and card readers are used at these points to record information such as the time when the patrol staff arrive at each point and any actions taken there. At the security control center, the quality of patrols can be assessed by reviewing these records. This provides evidence to assess whether the patrol staff carried out their patrols, whether they were lazy and skipped or reduced certain patrol points, or extended the duration of their patrols. It can also be used to determine the approximate time when a crime occurred. 4 Visual intercom system for home security – The “Southern Garden Intelligent Residential Community” features an intelligent anti-theft alarm system that integrates visual intercom, infrared theft detection, door magnet switches, gas leak detection, smoke detectors, and emergency button alarms. The equipment is installed at the entrance of each unit in the buildings of the residential complex, inside the residences, and in the security center (management host). Each residence is equipped with an infrared sensor, a door magnet switch, a smoke detector, a gas water heater, an emergency alarm button, a wall-mounted black-and-white indoor intercom, and an alarm controller. A gate host is installed at the entrance of each unit, and a set of management hosts is installed at the security center. When a visitor arrives, pressing the outdoor button or the room number of the person being visited causes the indoor receiver to emit a ringing sound. At the same time, the display screen of the indoor unit activates automatically, showing the image of the visitor as well as the situation outside. The owner can talk to the visitor via the intercom, and after verifying the identity, use the lock-release button on the indoor phone to remotely control the electric lock on the door and allow the visitor to enter. After the guest enters through the gate, a door closer closes it automatically. The video intercom system features night infrared lighting to ensure clear visibility day and night. This system combines intercom and alarm functions for seeking assistance, and it can be connected to a computer along with corresponding management software. This creates excellent conditions for the intelligent integration of the entire community. The features of this system are described as follows: 4.1 Visual intercom system. This system uses passwords for unlocking, adhering to a system where each household has its own unique password, which ensures the confidentiality and uniqueness of these passwords; residents can change their passwords at any time. This system is equipped with anti-tampering devices; when tampered with, both the main unit and the management unit emit an alarm sound simultaneously. Through the management host, the security center can monitor the operation of the intercom systems in various residential buildings within the community. If the entrance door of a residential building is opened illegally or there is a malfunction in the intercom system or its wiring, the main intercom management unit of the community will send an alarm signal, displaying the details and location of the alarm. The security center can also use the management host to dial in and monitor the situations at each entrance of various buildings. The management host can be equipped with 248 access controllers and 6 auxiliary management hosts, thereby enabling the management of multiple entrances and exits in the community. The management host can freely call any user extension or secondary management host, while the secondary management hosts can call the management host. The other secondary management hosts and user extensions can communicate with each other bidirectionally, and user extensions can also call the management host. In this way, a communication network is established within a single area. The property management department of the community, as well as residents, can use this system to communicate with each other – for example, the property management department can notify residents about various fees that need to be paid, residents can inform the property management department about repairs that are needed on the residential facilities, and residents can seek help by contacting the security staff or neighbors in emergency situations. 4.2 Home Security Systems The residential units in the \"Southern Garden Intelligent Residential Community\" are equipped with first-class home security systems in China. Together with the perimeter protection, security monitoring, patrol management, and video intercom systems in the public areas of the community, these systems constitute the intelligent security framework of the area. A home security system includes the following 5 components: door magnet switch, infrared detector, gas detector, smoke detector, and emergency alarm button. An alarm controller is installed in each household. It can connect five alarm sources (i.e., five zones), allowing different sensors such as door magnets, infrared detectors, gas detectors, and smoke detectors to be connected to separate zones, so as to ensure that it is possible to determine exactly which zone has triggered an alarm. 5. Access Control System: At the entrance to the compound of the “Southern Garden Intelligent Residential Community”, there is an intelligent access control system used to verify residents’ identities when they enter, as well as a parking lot management system for identifying vehicles entering and leaving. When people enter or leave the premises and vehicles enter or leave the underground parking lot, they must use their own access cards; entry is permitted only after the card is successfully recognized by the reader. The community security center issues induction cards that are uniquely linked to the cardholders to the residents of the complex, temporary occupants, and visitors. Each access card has been registered and authorized at the security center; if the holder loses the card accidentally, they should immediately notify the security center to report it as lost and obtain a new card. All card readers in the park are connected to the security center via an on-site control bus. It can accurately record the time of each cardholder’s entry and exit. When any device in the system detects the use of a lost or reported sensor card, the system will automatically issue an alarm to alert security personnel to take action. 6 Conclusion With the rapid advancement of science and technology, security prevention technologies have also developed swiftly. The security systems in smart parks are evolving toward being multi-functional, and they will undoubtedly be the result of the integration of modern detection technologies, communication technologies, and computer network technologies. Therefore, at the current stage, the security system for smart parks is a comprehensive system that includes overall design, equipment selection, and the establishment of sound management systems. It is necessary to properly manage the complex relationship among project cost, system reliability, and operator usability.
