I have a question regarding flowcharts that I’d like to ask everyone: There is a packed tower, and it is necessary to know the pressure difference between the top and bottom of the tower. Previously, a differential pressure transmitter was used, but now two pressure transmitters are being employed—one at the top and one at the bottom—with the DCS then using the difference between these two values as the pressure difference. How should this relationship be represented in a flowchart? I was wondering if that hero has had similar experiences; I would be grateful for any advice you could offer! ! ! ! :victory:
In situations where measuring pressure difference is required, a differential pressure gauge is generally still used. Theoretically, it is also possible to calculate the pressure difference in the system using two pressure gauges, but this is not as straightforward as measuring the pressure difference directly. To represent the logical relationship between two pressure gauges, a calculation symbol can be used, or an explanation can be added.
At the operation symbol PY, the representative symbols of the two signals can be indicated (for example, A can be used to represent the pressure signal at the bottom of the tower, and B can be used to represent the pressure signal at the top of the tower). A small square is placed in the upper right corner, with an equilateral triangle inside it (indicating the calculation of the signal difference); on the right side, A-B is used to represent the difference between the two signals.
Thank you for your guidance; the issue has been resolved now. Following the rules of a certain foreign design firm, I used the UC function. I wonder if anyone else has other methods as well. I didn’t understand the part upstairs; please forgive my limited knowledge.
