In flue gas desulfurization, there are no very strict measures for controlling chloride ion levels, nor is any monitoring or control in place. The default value in typical designs is 20,000 ppm; why is it 20,000 ppm? How was this concentration determined? Are there strict process requirements, or are it material requirements? I hope everyone can have a serious discussion about it.
There are currently no national standards regarding the discharge of chloride ions from industrial wastewater; although some regions do have such requirements, these vary from place to place, and the specific figures are not well known
I think it’s mainly the requirements regarding the properties of the material, as well as the properties of gypsum. If gypsum is to be reused, then the impurities present in it must be taken into consideration, that is, the quality of the gypsum.
There is another question: what role do chloride ions play in desulfurization? I hope everyone can share their thoughts on this.
