Spectral analysis only determines the chemical composition, and it should be done not after completion, but rather before construction begins once the material arrives at the site. Just take a few points; there’s no need to analyze anything further after that
The materials for pipes and pressure vessels are generally verified upon arrival at the factory, using either spectrometers (for qualitative, semi-quantitative, and quantitative analysis) or quantitative chemical analysis methods. Conduct sampling inspections on materials for which manufacturing or installation standards impose requirements!
So once the construction is complete, how can we ensure that the correct materials are used? I think it’s necessary to conduct random inspections after completion as well; however, the regulations require inspections to be carried out by batch, which can be quite troublesome after the construction is done.
If management is chaotic to the point of errors being made, the company will not be able to survive either; every aspect should be traceable.

I’ll talk about what I’m familiar with, namely welding in power construction, as well as some standards related to power construction. These standards cover spectral analysis; alloy materials must undergo spectral analysis upon arrival, with 100% testing required in some cases and only random inspections in others. Regarding welding, the inspection of welds is carried out based on each welder’s workload for that day. The main purpose of this is to prevent welders from using the wrong welding materials.
I believe that after the construction is completed, sample inspections of the materials should be carried out, using spectral analysis to determine their composition; this is especially necessary for critical areas.
