May I ask what parameters are required to determine the volume of the intermediate storage tank? How to determine?
The volume of the intermediate storage tank is generally determined based on the residence time. Materials with different properties and different common uses have varying requirements for residence time.
Back to upstairs: Why is volume related to the properties of the material?
Due to differences in material properties, the loading factor varies
Agree with what was said on the 2nd floor, but it mainly depends on what purpose the intermediate tank is intended for In the case of raw material tanks between units, the main consideration is to prevent cross-supply of raw materials in the event of an accident, thereby ensuring the safety of material storage in upstream units during such situations; a duration of 3–5 days is appropriate for this purpose. However, in general, direct cross-supply of raw materials should be the preferred approach, as it can help save energy, for example through thermal feeding of materials between units. If it is an intermediate product tank, the product blending and sales capabilities should be taken into consideration; the storage capacity should be sufficient to cover 10–15 days of production volume.
For ordinary intermediate tanks, the considerations are, first, emergency use, and second, cost. It’s not as simple as it sounds.
The function of the intermediate tank is primarily to act as a buffer for materials. On one hand, it is necessary to ensure continuity of production in emergency situations; on the other hand, it must meet the requirements for storing and transferring materials. Depending on the type of material and its production characteristics, it is generally appropriate to determine the volume of the intermediate storage tank based on the residence time of the materials. As for the filling factor of the container, it will be taken into account when the actual volume is finalized. This post was last edited by Li Yiheng on 2008-1-20 at 13:29.]
I would like to ask, can the residence time be checked? Where can I check it? Thank you
The residence time is determined by the process requirements; it cannot be looked up, as it is specified by the process engineers
