In recent years, fiber cylinder mist eliminators have been promoted in the industry. Currently, there are two methods for removing acid from cylindrical mist eliminators: 1. Using liquid seal cups directly attached to the mist elimination elements ; 2. Acid drainage pipes are used to collect the acid from various components, and it is then discharged into acid separation tanks or circulation tanks. At first glance, the second method seems better as it can avoid the secondary entrainment that occurs with the first method.
I think it is related to the way the components are installed and the flow direction of the gas. In the pictures posted by the former moderator, the fiber mist-removing element was placed upside down on the ceiling plate; gas entered through the core of the element, and the filtered acid moved upward to the ceiling plate, so a centralized outlet for removing this acid had to be provided on the ceiling plate. If the element is mounted upright on the ceiling grid, gas filters in from the outside surface of the element into its core, and the filtered acid reaches the interior of the element; it is advisable to install a liquid seal cup at the bottom of the element to remove this acid. This is how ours is installed. Due to different installation methods, various companies may primarily consider the convenience of future component replacement and* habits.

Personally, I don’t think there is any secondary entrainment, unless the resistance of the demister is too high and the liquid seal is broken
