I’m seeking help from everyone: I’m looking for techniques for the regeneration and cleaning of polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) microporous membrane filters. I hope experts can offer some guidance; I’d be extremely grateful!
Hello, the owner. Our company’s coated tube bundle filtration system has been used as a replacement for microporous filters, but their working principles are roughly similar. Under normal conditions, the cleaning and regeneration process for this filter element is as follows: 1. Stop the supply of fluid. 2. Compressed air or nitrogen is introduced to push the liquid out of the tank; this process also serves to dry the filter cake. 3. The inlet valve is switched so that the compressed gas blows in the opposite direction through the filter element, thereby removing the filter cake. 4. The residue is removed. 5. After reaching a certain stage of operation, the filter element needs to be thoroughly regenerated through methods such as scrubbing, acid washing, or alkali washing. For more details, please consult a manufacturer of microporous filtration equipment.
It might not be easy; our company uses PE microporous filters, and various cleaning and purging methods have not yielded good results. In the end, we had to replace the filter elements, with a new set needed every month, which is very costly.
This year, we replaced the microporous filters used in the previous process with membrane tube bundle filters for the filtration of viscose fiber fluff water and two-bath water. The reason for this is that the internal filtering pores of microporous filter elements tend to get clogged, which affects the filtering efficiency; moreover, fine impurities that enter these complex pore structures are difficult to remove through backwashing, leading to instability in the water volume required for downstream processes. Therefore, it is normal for microfiltration machines to have incomplete backwashing.
I’d like to ask the original poster: is your film imported or domestically produced? Could you give some details?
