For composite steel plates used in pressure vessels, when heat treatment is required and the heat treatment temperature falls within the sensitization temperature range, how can sensitization of the austenitic stainless steel in the composite plate be prevented, thereby avoiding intergranular corrosion?
By communicating with the designer, and in accordance with the heat treatment requirements of the composite material, it is appropriate to reduce the heat treatment temperature in order to preserve the corrosion resistance of the composite sheet, while also achieving the goal of eliminating welding stresses.

Yes, many composite panel manufacturers do indeed operate in this way at present! Note 7.1.6 in NB/T47002-2019 specifies that it is generally believed that stress-relief heat treatment of composite sheets at a temperature lower than that used for the tempering of the base material does not alter the heat-treated condition of the base material.
