The project I am working on now requires a tank to melt a solid material, but this solid material becomes acidic and corrosive after melting. If heating is carried out using a jacket, since the amount of material used is relatively large (about 1 ton per hour), only 4 to 5 kg of steam can be used for heating (the melting temperature of the material is around 52°C; if the temperature is too high, the material tends to coking), and there is a risk that this amount of steam will not be sufficient ; When using welding to heat the coiled tubes, corrosion at the weld points is severe, which can lead to steam leakage into the container. Once steam leaks in, the entire contents of the tank become unusable; the value of those contents is around 10,000 per ton. Based on an eight-hour working shift, the loss amounts to approximately 100,000. Their previous approach was to pass tubes through the equipment and weld them at the connections outside the equipment; in this way, any steam leaks would occur only on the outside and would not affect the materials inside the equipment. I would like to ask if there are any better methods or devices that can solve this problem: achieving good heating effects without contaminating the material.
To facilitate cleaning and extend service life, containers made of Cr18-Ni18 or Cr13 stainless steel should be preferred, and the internally heated pipelines should also be made of the same material. If the container is not to be changed, one can use a jacketed version as well, but the piping of the jacket needs to be made thicker, or additional heat tracing lines should be added.
