Sulfidation is necessary because the catalysts and protectants used in your system account for about 23% of the total catalyst amount. Moreover, the new catalysts supplied are in an oxidized state and thus lack reactivity; only when they are in a sulfided state does their hydrogenation activity, selectivity, and thermal stability increase, allowing the catalyst to exhibit high hydrogenation efficiency. The activity of the previous catalyst can also be compensated for. There is no need to deliberately work on stabilizing the initial operation; it is sufficient to introduce low-nitrogen oil at the start of operation and let it circulate for a while.
