Guangxi’s biodiesel energy forests will produce over 160,000 tons of diesel per year. The construction project for million-mu of biodiesel energy forests in Guangxi has been officially launched, which means that within the next 3 years, Guangxi will achieve its goal of establishing 1 million mu of Castanopsis forest areas for biodiesel production as well as 1,800 mu of seedling cultivation areas. Industry experts estimate conservatively that 1 million mu of Erythrina trees can produce over 160,000 tons of diesel per year, generating an economic value of 640 million yuan. Guangxi Zhilian Renewable Energy Co., Ltd. has entered into a long-term comprehensive cooperation agreement with the Guangxi Academy of Forestry; Zhilian Company will invest 500 million yuan to carry out a project to establish biofuel forest areas covering one million mu.
