Generally, it relies on personal diagnosis, with the main methods being listening, observing, touching, smelling, and comparing. Some companies (mostly foreign-owned ones) are more advanced and use specialized equipment for testing.
We use portable vibration meters for monitoring here, and generate curves with EXL

I recommend the book \"Equipment Condition Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis Techniques and Applications\", published by the Industrial Equipment and Information Engineering Publishing Center of the Chemical Industry Press. It covers topics such as concepts, classification and description of signals, data acquisition and digital signal processing, state characteristic parameters and testing of rotating machinery, fault diagnosis of gear mechanisms, fault handling and diagnosis techniques for rolling bearings, infrared technology, and the principles of expert systems for equipment fault diagnosis; it’s a pretty good book.
