Coal resources are in short supply, so the use of briquetted coal for gas production is on the rise! Our company’s briquette production system is, to put it mildly, among the best in the country! It’s truly true that what is eaten is grass, and what is produced is milk. The production of many nitrogen fertilizers and their downstream gas-generation products relies on raw coal. A great deal of high-quality lump coal is wasted needlessly; the water gas produced by using it for gas generation is not as good as that produced from low-quality coals such as peat, cinder coal, and coal gangue, which have a carbon content of 10% to 20% and are used to make briquettes. Since 1975, our company has been exploring the technology for producing briquettes, and this technology has now become increasingly mature. May I ask which company you represent? Are your briquettes in the form of coal balls or coal sticks? I’ve heard that coal sticks burn better, right?
We have used briquetted coal; although its cost of use is lower than that of lump coal, it makes it difficult to maintain stable furnace operation, results in high steam consumption, causes significant erosion and corrosion of the equipment, and shortens the maintenance cycle for the equipment.
Coal resources are becoming increasingly scarce; our country could consider cooperating with other countries for joint development in order to solve this problem.
