I would like to ask the experts: what precautions should be taken when preparing sodium cyanide solutions in a workshop? Dear experts, the workshop needs to prepare a sodium cyanide solution using solid sodium cyanide in iron drums. At present, we still manually break open the drums, pour the contents into the preparation tank, add water, and use an submersible pump to circulate the mixture in order to dissolve it. This method is very primitive and seems unsafe; I’m extremely anxious! I was wondering if anyone has any good suggestions: 1. Is there a way to avoid manual feeding of materials, by using machinery or some other method, as long as manual feeding is not used? 2. The workshop is kept enclosed, with fans used to exhaust air in order to prevent dust from accumulating. Is this approach effective? Are enclosed workshops very dangerous? Are there any good measures for ventilation? 3. The MSDS states that sodium cyanide can absorb moisture and produce hydrogen cyanide; what measures can be taken to prevent this? We have to wash the floor whenever we prepare something, so contact with water is inevitable! 4. Our company has a storage room for sodium cyanide in the workshop; is this not in compliance with the regulatory requirements? What precautions should be taken when storing sodium cyanide? 5. I saw suggestions on the forum that ferrous sulfate combined with cyanide ions could be used to soak abandoned iron drums and packaging bags that contained sodium cyanide – is this feasible? ; Will the resulting complex produce hydrogen cyanide when it comes into contact with acidic wastewater? Haha, our company used to rely on manual methods too, but it seems they have switched to automated ones now. Manual work is basically quite troublesome, and the workers are under a lot of psychological pressure. A automatic feeding machine should be able to solve the problem, right?

Is the fire hazard of sodium cyanide classified as Class A or Class E?
