The new syngas compressor installed in our plant is driven by a turbine, but whether an emergency oil pump is necessary remains a question. The medium flowing through this compressor is methanol syngas, with H2, CO, and CO2 as its main components. I would appreciate your advice on which types of turbine compressors require an emergency oil pump
The lubrication system of the compressor mainly supplies oil to the compressor and turbine, as well as to the control system. These compressors are designed as complete systems, with emergency measures for various accident scenarios fully taken into account during the design process. Since all oil pumps are dual-pump systems with one serving as a backup, they can be purchased according to the original design.
