Acceptance of high-pressure compressor inlet pipeline

There is a problem regarding the acceptance of the inlet pipeline for the existing CO high-pressure compressor; the compressor’s inlet pressure is 3.0 Mpa while the outlet pressure is 20 Mpa. The client requires that the entire inlet pipeline be degreased and cleaned. Are there any relevant regulatory requirements for this? What is the reason? The owner said it might be because of the risk of an explosion? Could someone give me some advice? Thanks!
It is recommended to consult the SH3501 standard; in that standard, CO is classified as a Class B flammable gas, and the requirements regarding pipelines are specified there. I gave it a quick glance but couldn’t find any such requirements. It would be helpful if the client could provide the design documents or relevant standards, which would also help us gain more knowledge
Whether the owner is a foreigner or not – it’s possible that there are differences in standards; such matters need to be discussed and settled properly!
Just replace the air with nitrogen, right? Is it that troublesome?
Degreasing is necessary. The reason is that during air testing, due to the high oxygen content, if there is a high level of grease in the pipes, it can lead to combustion and explosion. Of course, strict requirements are usually applied before starting up the equipment; simply using nitrogen for purging is sufficient!
It’s not necessary; just blow it out with air.
