　　**The National Development and Reform Commission, in conjunction with the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association, held a meeting in Beijing today to emphasize the need for strict implementation of fertilizer price policies. A responsible official from the NDRC said at the meeting that the fertilizer price policies will remain unchanged for the time being: the ex-factory price of urea, which is under central government control, will not be adjusted； For the ex-factory prices of chemical fertilizers such as urea, phosphate fertilizer, and compound fertilizer that are under local management, and where adjustments are necessary due to rising costs, **the price regulatory authorities shall determine reasonable prices on the basis of a thorough review of the costs. 　　The official said that for fertilizers whose prices are not subject to price control, a system of submitting applications for price increases and registering such changes is required in accordance with regulations ； Continue to implement management based on the purchase-sell price margin, wholesale-retail price margin, and maximum price limits for the wholesale and retail prices of fertilizers. 　　The official also reported on the price-related violations committed by some fertilizer manufacturers since last year. All fertilizer manufacturers are reminded to strictly abide by **the relevant policies regarding fertilizer prices, to not exceed the maximum pricing limits set by ***, to avoid driving up fertilizer prices, and to refrain from any disguised price increases, thus contributing to the maintenance of order in the fertilizer market. It was also stated that the National Development and Reform Commission has decided to continue carrying out special inspections on fertilizer prices across the country during the period of preparing fertilizers for spring plowing.
