Our company's current production process uses a reaction system with toluene as the solvent. After the reaction is completed, the toluene needs to be steamed out. The product is solid in this system. Therefore, vacuum distillation cannot be used. Currently, we use steam distillation. This distillation method loses more solvents and wastes more water. The production method is simple. Now we want to find a more advanced way to handle it, or use automatic equipment to handle it, but we don't know what is suitable. I would like to ask you!
Is it possible to consider changing the mass transfer heat transfer to partition wall heat transfer? For example: it may be feasible to consider using partition wall heating and using a spiral heater to circulate and heat the solvent.
Toluene can be distilled under reduced pressure... and the process and equipment are relatively simple to invest... If it is a reactor, equipped with a hydraulic motor, the problem can be solved... It is usually extracted with water and then azeotropes with toluene after adding water.
You can use a rake distillation kettle! :victory: Negative pressure operation! No waste water will be produced and the solvent loss is small! You are guaranteed to be satisfied! :lol
