The 12,000 kt/a melamine production facility owned by Sichuan Chemical Industry Group uses the DSM method from the Netherlands, and it is equipped with a urea synthesis unit as well. Shandong Haihua Co., Ltd. employs improved low-pressure production technology and has introduced some advanced foreign equipment to build production facilities with capacities of 0.6 thousand tons per year and 1.2 thousand tons per year. Manufacturers such as Zhongyuan Dahuahua, Fujian Sanming, and Sichuan Chemical have adopted high-pressure process equipment. Other production facilities (with a capacity of generally 0.1 to 0.6 ten thousand tons per year) employ low-pressure production technology developed domestically; the exhaust gases from these facilities are recycled to produce ammonium carbamate. Depending on the specific conditions of each manufacturing plant, ammonium carbonate or ammonium sulfate is produced, and in some cases, it is even exported as agricultural ammonia.
